The 30 Minutes A Day Clean
I have a confession to make: I hate to clean. I have been known to go out of my way to avoid cleaning. Its not because I don’t like having a clean house or that I’m trying to bring dog hair lined yoga pants into fashion. I just hate how much time it takes away from things I enjoy. Like playing with my son, reading, blogging. Besides, its just going to get dirty again anyway. Am I right?
But since my husband argued against being featured on an episode of Hoarders, I had to make a compromise. I needed to come up with a plan to get the most cleaning impact for the least amount of time and work. I don’t have the energy to devote hours a day to keeping my house spotless. Plus with a toddler tornado and a hairy pup, I would be fighting a losing battle.
Lucky for me (and you), there are tons of ways to keep a house clean without spending hours scrubbing.

June 23, 2016 at 4:57 pmA game-changer for me was getting realistic expectations about how clean my household needs to be in this stage of my life: i.e. less than perfection. Currently I try to spend a few minutes a day focusing on one task that I can complete in about half an hour or less: vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathroom etc. That way I’m not stressed about doing ALL THE CLEANING at once, because that is just torture to me. And if I miss a day, oh well, I’ll do it a different day.

June 25, 2016 at 2:23 pmI admire the dedication of ladies who spend hours every day cleaning, but that just isn’t me. Quick and easy has always been my cleaning philosophy. 🙂

June 28, 2016 at 7:18 pmI’m at a total loss when it comes to cleaning. My house is such a mess I feel totally overwhelmed and feel like I can’t do anything till it’s all perfectly clean bit it never gets that way 🙁 I spend more time stressed by my surroundings than trying to do something about it because I simply don’t know where to start.

June 28, 2016 at 7:43 pmI struggle with perfection too, but try to remember that perfection is for magazines, not real life. Perfection is not practical and it sounds like it’s holding you back. Just do what you can with the time you have.
